I wanted to take some time to explain the thought process behind Moments by Mail and why I believe it can be a game changer for other busy parents juggling a million things.
Over the last seven years, I have purchased multiple baby books with the best intentions of writing in them. But life kept life-ing. Work, multiple kids, appointments, and everything else always seemed to stand between me and the time to fill them out. Then, of course, mom brain would kick in and I would forget all about them.
Whenever I came across one of those books sitting on a shelf or tucked into a bin, I felt guilty that I had never really gotten around to filling it out for my kids.
I wondered whether other parents felt the same way. We have the best intentions, but no gentle prompting or reminder to actually write the moments down.
That is where Moments by Mail was born: a way to be reminded each month to trade a few minutes of mindless scrolling for a few minutes of capturing the little moments. Over time, those pages become a collection of memories, milestones, and pieces of everyday life ready to share with your children as they grow older.
I worked hard to create collections that can meet families in different stages of life. Little Moments is focused on the newborn years through early elementary school. Becoming You is made for older elementary-aged children and beyond. It is designed to be completed together at first, with room for your child to begin completing the prompts independently as they grow.
These collections are meant to be flexible and work with you in the season you are living. There is no single right way to complete them.
In my mind, a traditional book or album is not going to jump off the shelf and remind you to fill it in during different phases of life. Many of them focus mostly on milestones, too, rather than the smaller details of who someone is becoming.
Moments by Mail is different because the reminder comes to you. One envelope at a time. One small pause each month. One more piece of your family's story preserved before it has the chance to fade.
